I always wear my hat running for one of two reasons; to keep the sun out of my eyes or to keep the rain out of my eyes. So far this week, it has been the latter of the two reasons. Tuesday and today there have been substantial rains during my runs. Six months ago, this would have been reason enough to stay in bed and chalk it up to a lost running day, but not anymore. My devotion to running can withstand all sorts of weather, even though here in Hawaii there are typically two types; sunny or rainy.

I ran 8.25 miles in 1:13, for an average of 8:48 min./mile. I am loving running first thing in the morning, it is a great way to start the day. While I understand that this is not feasible when teaching, I will enjoy it while I can.

Also worth enjoying, a post-run smoothie. My smoothie has a tropical twist today with papaya and pineapple, also in the mix are strawberries, blueberries, kale, yogurt, soy milk, chia seeds, and cinnamon.

Have a wonderful day!
