Greek Festival

August 28, 2011

Tim and I ventured out to the Greek festival today at Ala Moana Beach Park.

The walk through the park was nice.

We found a baobab tree, a native to Africa. this is the tree that Rafiki hangs out in, in the movie the Lion King.

Pretty cool looking, huh?

The Greek Festival had food, wine, ouza, deserts, and live music.

We started off with a spanikopita plate. It came with rice pilaf, a dolma, salad, olives, feta, and baklava. It was just ok, the salad was very soggy and the rest of the food was so so. The pastries were a lot better. The baklava, pecan queen, and a powdered sugar cookie were all tasty.

But the live Greek music and the company were great!
